2005 Chrysalis Award – Detached Outbuilding Sacramento
The owners were in need of an off-the-street parking area due to city and county parking restrictions. Their old garage had rotted and had fallen down and they wanted a new 2-car garage to be able to store their cars.
2005 Chrysalis Award – Detached Outbuilding
The owners were interested in having some additional space to be able to entertain, along with a bathroom and a new laundry area. The existing laundry room was crammed in the middle of the kitchen. The owners did not want to destroy the integrity of the house by putting it in another space so we relocated it to the garage.
A living space was created upstairs to entertain. The owners were also very pleased with it as they will be able to use it as a guest room when they have company.
We also built a ½ bathroom and a laundry area in the garage space with stairs leading up to the additional entertaining area.
The owners were very pleased with the new garage to be able to store their cars from off of the street. They were also happy to have a new location for their laundry facilities so that the noise would no longer be an issue inside of the house. The new living area was to their approval and they were excited to start putting it to use.
Congratulations! Winner of the 2005 Chrysalis Awards for Best Design/Build Project for a Detached Outbuilding.
